What are the characteristics of F46 polyimide film
F46 polyimide film (also known as PI-F46 composite film, FH/FHF film) is a high-performance composite insulation material made by coating F46 (FEP, polytetrafluoroethylene) on one or both sides of polyimide (PI) substrate and high-temperature sintering. It combines the high strength and high temperature resistance of PI with the chemical and self-adhesive properties of F46. The core characteristic
The core characteristics are as follows:
1、 Core Structure and Basic Characteristics
Structure: PI substrate provides rigidity, strength, and high temperature stability; The F46 coating endows it with chemical resistance, low friction, high-temperature self-adhesive and sealing capabilities.
Appearance: Golden transparent/semi transparent, with a common thickness of 0.0375-0.12 mm, divided into FH (single-sided coating F46) and FHF (double-sided coating F46).
Temperature range: Long term operation -269 ℃ to+260 ℃, short-term resistance to high temperature of 400 ℃, H-class/HC class insulation.
2、 Key performance characteristics
1. Temperature resistance and thermal stability
It can be used stably for a long time at 260 ℃, and can withstand 400 ℃ for a short time without melting, deformation, or decomposition.
Low thermal expansion coefficient, good dimensional stability, no shrinkage or deformation at high temperatures.
Excellent flame retardancy, self extinguishing upon ignition, meeting strict fire prevention requirements.
2. Strong electrical insulation (core advantage)
The breakdown strength is ≥ 150-180 KV/mm, and the insulation level reaches H-C.
Volume resistivity ≥ 10 ¹⁶Ω· cm, surface resistivity ≥ 10 ¹⁵ Ω, low dielectric loss at high frequencies (tan δ ≤ 0.004).
Resistant to corona and arc, suitable for high voltage, high frequency, variable frequency motors and special cables.
3. Excellent chemical stability
F46 coating is resistant to strong acids, strong alkalis, various organic solvents, oils, and water vapor, and is almost not corroded by any chemical medium.
Weather resistance, radiation resistance, anti-aging, stable performance for long-term use in outdoor/nuclear industrial environment.
4. Excellent mechanical performance
Tensile strength ≥ 110-170 MPa, high modulus, high toughness, tear resistance, bending resistance, and wear resistance.
The elongation at break is ≥ 55%, which combines rigidity and flexibility, and can be wrapped, die cut, and heat sealed.
Peel strength ≥ 8 N/25mm, the coating is firmly bonded to PI and not easily delaminated.
5. Unique high-temperature self-adhesive and sealing (F46 core value)
Heating at 260-300 ℃ can self melt and bond without the need for additional adhesive. It can be directly heat sealed and formed, with reliable sealing and simplified process.
Low friction coefficient, non stick surface, easy demolding, suitable for wrapping, laminating, and heat sealing processes.
